Mediastead presents Video Everywhere™
In the 1950’s television changed the way we advertise and created an entire industry.
In the 1990’s we returned to photographs and the written word as the internet gained a foothold in advertising.
Today video is back and stronger than ever. Quality video production is now affordable and easy, and even the smallest businesses can afford to create high quality video assets.
Video production comes in a variety of styles and categories. Mediastead can help you determine the best type of video and production category for your online and offline needs.
Our video production unit is known as Video Everywhere. The concept is simple. Produce one video or video series and spread it across as many platforms as possible. If you are making the investment into video production, you’ll want to have your videos viewed by the maximum number of potential customers.
Your video can be seen:
- on your website
- in your email newsletter or app
- on YouTube
- on other social media
- at tradeshow booths and kiosks
- on cable and broadcast TV
- in digital signage or electronic billboards
Production can fit any budget depending on the style and format.

Online Video Primer
Learn more about Mediastead’s role in creating your online video marketing campaign. Each type and format of video is explained, along with best uses and general production budgets.
Slide Show Video
The most basic video is the slide show. Similar to a PowerPoint presentation it consists of slides and animated transitions, often containing text, photos or illustrations. The audio can be music or voiceover. These are the simplest productions and the least expensive.
Production: in house
Budget: $500 – $1000. Template presentations for as little as $99 each.
Best uses: Website or YouTube videos. Customer service or customer training. Video presentations for high-end clients or complex products.
Explainer videos take the slide show to the next level. They are specifically designed to explain a product, service or concept. They can contain a mix of static images, video clips or animations, often precisely timed to be persuasive and call customers to action. Links can be embedded or overlaid onto the video. These can be relatively inexpensive up to a medium-sized budget, depending on the need for artists, spokespeople or voice actors.
Production: in house
Budget: $500 – $5000. Original art or voice actors influence the budget.
Best uses: Website or YouTube videos. Great for call-to-action videos or videos that describe complex concepts or service products.
These live action videos are designed to look authentic and somewhat amateur. Videos featuring the business owners, employees or customers don’t require professional writers or videographers, but high-quality editing is the difference between authenticity and a bad home movie. These videos are medium priced but can involve lots of organization and longer production at times. These videos are great for the web and local broadcast TV but will look to amateur compared to national brands.
Production: Editing and project management in house. Subcontractors for production or on location videos.
Budget: $2500 – $7500. The complexity of editing and location can influence the budget.
Best uses: Website, YouTube, social media or local television.
Live Action HD Commercials
These videos are full production spots that include professional copywriters, actors and spokesmodels, high-quality video and audio editing and a polished finished product. Most often these videos are exactly 30 seconds in length and may have a second 15-second version.
Production: Mediastead manages production and budget, and contracts with professionals for most services.
Budget: $10,000+. Productions start around $10,000 and can quickly escalate to $100,000 or more, not including the cost of actors or professional spokespeople.
Best Uses: Large market television, national television, large online viral campaigns, high traffic websites, and online advertising. We recommend a minimum Ad budget of $50,000.
Wide Format Video
The highest production costs are associated with wide format video. This video is designed to be projected onto cinema screens but is becoming more popular because the quality is high enough for new 4K Ultra HD televisions. Beyond acting, editing, and filming, it uses specialized cameras and expert videography.
Production: Mediastead can make a referral to a high-end production company.
Budget: $100,000+. As 4K HD becomes more widespread we anticipate drops in production costs and an increased number of qualified production companies.
Best Uses: At this point, these productions are reserved for large national campaigns with multimillion-dollar ad budgets, or cinema-specific productions such as movie trailers.
Video production is rapidly becoming the norm in advertising. Whether you are investing a few hundred dollars or a few million, finding the right professionals to guide the process is critical.
