Direct mail marketing has a bad reputation. At one time, this expensive marketing was only appealing because it was cheaper than purchasing mass media ads. Every day we would retrieve one or two bills and a large bundle of “junk mail”.

That’s changed. Most of our junk mail now arrives by email. Today, people actually take the time to look through advertisements sent by mail. A postcard is a great way to get in front of people relatively cheap.

Mass mail doesn’t have to be impersonal. I got this in our mailbox today. The ad is for a local medical practitioner. She’s been in business for the past two years, and is a member of our community. This great postcard puts a face to the name, and vice versa.

In pet care, many of the companies cater to a local audience. Putting a photo of your staff, your building, or even your office cat can create a real person to person experience.

As we always say, “All things created equal, people would rather do business with a friend.  All things created unequal, people would STILL rather do business with a friend.”
